Blogging for Money? or Just for Fun.

For a new blog publisher, success story of a professional blogger making big money just by publishing his Blog is really seductive. Many of those newbie thoughts that making money on Blog is really easy, as simple as getting a blog on blogspot.com applying for adsense and money comes. But the reality is far from that. If you think you can make big fortune overnight by publishing a Blog, that’s a big mistake.
It’s fine if you publish your Blog just to show your interest or sharing your hobby and you updating your blog 2 - 3 times a week. But that won’t work if you intended your Blog to make a big money. Darren Rowse, one of the Internet’s most famous professional blogger, and a co-founder of the b5media blog network said on one of his interview :
“A lot of people say it’s sort of like a little investment. They write something every night before they go to bed, and another page on their website gets added. And the more pages they’ve got, the more chance they’ve got of earning a little bit of money,”
But then he continues his opinion:
Several highly successful bloggers also caution that there’s no free lunch. “I worked anything from eight- to 16-hour days over the last three or four years just trying to do this,” says Mr. Rowse. “And a lot of people don’t see that.
Obviously, many people don’t see what happened behind the screen and this inadequate information sometimes becomes a pitfall for their effort to make fortune in Blogging.
Cosa Aranda in his Blog said that Google adsense is not the right place to get easy money from the Internet. The myth of easy money is only nonsense propaganda from some people to gain advantages over newbies by selling e-books or selling expensive courses, further he said.
I can infers from those two story - if you want to make real money from Internet you have to work hard on it like you do for your current occupation. But if you can’t do that, don’t expect too much, just make it Blogging for fun.
But there’s always a way
For you who intended to get money from Internet, don’t be desperate if you realized that all you have done for your Blog was not good enough. There’s always lesson we can learn to increase your income from Blog. Cosa aranda explained some pointers to start a good fortune in Adsense by Blogging.
- Start your Blog only from your main interest or topic you know. Leave High Paying Keyword dogma. Build this Blog as your main or core website.
- Apply all SEO techniques you can get on this website.
- The next step is promoting your website. You can do this by submitting your URL to search engine, by advertising for example using or directory etc. But for God’s sake, don’t SPAM!
- Now you can wait the results while keep updating your website regularly.
- Make a great wish for this website to be a big fortune for you
- After several weeks or months, whenever you feel perfect, you can make expansion by building another websites of you like and start from beginning as on the first site.
I think this pointer from Cosa and background story of Darren keeps me on a good mood to build a worthy Blog. There’s still long road lies ahead, but at least I started with a right way. I wish you luck for your Blog.
