In photography, lighting is the most important element to create a great picture. It is the important element that generates different atmospheres and soul into the image, from cold environment to crowded people full with enthusiasm can be captured perfectly with lighting. I’m confident with canon cameras technology to capture great moment in its natural color. However I’d like playing more with object illumination because it creates warm tone on the image. But to be sure the effect of the light is the one we are looking for, it is important that we know four types of illumination.

Canon EOS 30D has an extensive ISO range (from 100 to 1600 plus ISO 3200 in extended mode), which is selectable in 1/3-stop increments. This wide range ensure greater possibility to play around with any kind of lightning source.

The first lightning is ambient lighting or general lighting. This is lighting for general purpose in my opinion. It has more flexibility in creating effects for every occasion. However you need to adjust the intensity to get the most effect of your object.

The second lightning you can use to capture image with Canon EOS 30D is accent lights. They are sources of light with ornamental purposes. You can use artificial light source and deliberately placed to emboss an art object or a preferred details.

The third lightning is Natural light. Apparently you can get it virtually anywhere as long as the sun shining. When you’re indoor you still able to get natural tone using the light through windows and doors. On your Canon EOS 30D you can adjust the color temperature using white balance bracketing and correcting to match up the light source color and intensity.

You will discover later that there are practically hundreds of ways of lighting that can be applied to capture an incredible moment in your camera. However it takes time to master the essence in creating balance between lightning source and image enhancer feature built in Canon EOS 30D.
