Humanoid Technology Steps Into A Higher Level

If you know ASIMO, a humanoid robot from Japan which could play football rather ugly, this new humanoid technology is pretty remarkable. The name is Kawada HRP-2 and it was developed by researcher at the University of Tokyo. Tomomasa Sato (one of the team developer) says they intended to build such a tea-bot. A humanoid robot that could serve you a cup of tea in a good manner.

“A human being may be faster, but you’d have to say thank you,” says researcher Tomomasa Sato. “That’s the best thing about a robot.”

When I see the demo video of this humanoid, I’m really amazed by it’s capability. It can dance smoothly, creeping without problem, handling a board etc. I wonder that it could becomes I-Robot if marketed commercially. You can see the video here….
