Publishing A New Blog

Today I develop a new Blog and playing a bit with it’s themes. I took RockinBlue Themes, a 3 columns themes as it’s foundation and I change it into a 4 columns.
Mainly I follow tutorial from Cosa aranda to do that, and the result is not bad regarding to my minor experience on HTML and PHP coding. Actually I was intended to make one block feature post on the top of those two columns, but after trying for several hours I can’t find the right code for that. Yet I have finished the design, at least I called it Beta version.
The next step, is testing my design on several Web Browser, because each web browser has different capability to render html codes. I don’t want my Blog themes to be broken when someone accessing this Blog using incompatible web browser. To be sure of it’s compatibility, I have tested this Blog using 3 web browser on my computer i.e. Firefox 2, Opera 9, Internet Explorer 7 and also I test it using text browser Lynx for windows. However I need more data of it’s display on IE 6 because I believe many Internet user still actively using it today.
After searching on Google, I found a good service to test my Blog design provided by http://browsershots.org/. Using this service I can get screenshot of my Blog from different web browser, even you can play a bit with different screen resolution. The image above was captured using Iceweasel 2.0.0.1 running on Debian machine and the second image was captured using IE 5.5.
Now I have the information about my Blog displayed on different web browser and I’m satisfied with the result. If you like to build new themes for Blog or web design hobbyist, maybe http://browsershots.org could be your free tools for display test. However sometimes you have to wait one hour before seeing the first screen shot of your web, because many people using it.
