Sitemap Validation Problem

13 August 2007

At the moment I feel a little bit worried with SEO aspect for my blog. It has difficulties with sitemap validation on Google Webmaster tool recently. The reason for me to be worried, because sitemap is usefull to improve SEO aspect of a website and because Google is the main entry of visitors for the site I don’t wanna lose the visitor just because of sitemap error. Site maps are usually a page filled with the list of links to all pages inside the website. These are normally shown as tables or lists.

A simple list can improve your SEO factors many times because it helps the search engine crawler to navigate through out your site. If your site frequently spidered by Search engine crawler, then your effort to reach the top position on search engine result page will be a lot of easier.

Web sites should be designed consistently, so navigation models should follow the flow of the site map. Therefore, the first section in the site map should be the first link in the navigation bar. I have put the link to my stepmap on each blog at the navigation bar as well. However Google are keep validating the sitemap frequently. On last validation, there is indication that Google crawler couldn’t access the sitemap.

There is no way to guarantee that a website will be shown in the topmost ranking of “organic” search results for an extended period of time. However, with continuous maintainance of SEO aspect and the sitemap in a good condition will keep your pages on top position. Regular monitoring and adjustment of the SEO Sitemap and search results would ensure that a website is kept near the top ranking and receiving lots of web user traffic.
