Joseph Stiglitz Nobel in Economics, He has taught numerous undergraduate, MBA, doctoral, and executive courses in the areas of entrepreneurship, finance, and strategic management. His research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurship, innovation, and public policy and his academic writings have been published in many leading economics, finance, and management journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Finance, and Management Science. He has been an advisor consultant to a variety of clients, including the World Economic Forum, Barclays Bank, the Government of British Columbia, and numerous start-up companies. The unifying theme is a quest to gain deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial process, thereby generating new insights that are both rigorous and relevant. In other work, he is empirically examining the role of angel investors and equity crowdfunding in financing growing ventures. He also has an active research agenda on the rise of entrepreneurial ecosystems, looking at the role of foreign investors , and the role of government policies. He frequently advises entrepreneurs and venture investors, especially his former students.
Thomas Hellman born is a French-Canadian singer, songwriter, radio columnist, and author. He sings both in French and English. Hellman's M. A thesis in French literature in McGill University explored the subject of bilingualism, creativity and identity in the works of Samuel Beckett. Hellman has released seven albums. He writes a literary column for Radio-Canada. Thomas, then, with the help of director Brigitte Haentjens , put together a show with these songs and other literary texts set to music. Steinbeck , Frank H Mayer , and his own texts. It is part theater, part story-telling, part musical concert and has been performed in music festivals, theaters, as well as in literary festivals in Canada and Europe, with musicians Olaf Gundel and Sage Reynolds.
